The American Music Awards were last night and the theme of the evening seemed to be who’s haircut was most drastic. Joe Jonas went for an electric blue look while his ex Gigi Hadid teased the crowd with a faux (extremely realistic looking) bob. Her bestie, Kendall Jenner, debuted a pair of bangs. I’m assuming these are just clip-ons like the ones I wear.. Kardashians, they’re just like us. Oh, and Ariana Grande finally decided to ditch her signature hair and go with TWO new looks. Finally.
Jennifer Lopez – who played host for the night – opened the show with the most EPIC dance segment of the year. She gives me hope for my forties.
Selena Gomez and that red smokey eye was one of my favorite red carpet beauty moments. I’m also still amazed that Zendaya – dressed in a bubble gum pink dress by Emanuel – did her own makeup! She also casually disclosed that she ate mac and cheese before heading to the Microsoft Theater. Did we just become best friends?!
Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth made-out like two horny high school-ers in-between classes after their duet. I’m selfishly really happy for Meghan. If I had to hear her complain one more time that she was single during red carpet interviews, I think I may have lost my mind.
Jared Leto made me cry during his Paris tribute and I oddly got really emotional during Gwen Stefani’s performance. I’m assuming it’s because there was a mini Clueless reunion prior.
The Weeknd’s performance was FIRE, literally and I may or may not have DM-ed Sam Hunt on Instagram to wish him “congrats”. What a stud muff.
One Direction won Artist of the Year for the second time in a row. And Harry Style is my pick for Best Dressed of the night in that floral Gucci suit. #winning
Justin Bieber splashed around in a pair of Alexander McQueen sneaks like it was nbd during his game changing finale performance.
Noticeably absent? Taylor Swift.. and her awards show dance moves. RIP.
