As I’ve mentioned in a few previous posts, technology and futuristic nods are playing a massive role in fashion as of late and while I was scrolling through the endless snaps of the Royal Wedding, my eye was drawn to the “official portrait.” Mainly due to the precious little faces that accompanied the newly appointed Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but also because of how refreshing the minty tones (bouquets, couch, suits, etc.) were sprinkled throughout the shot.
You heard it here first because I’m calling it now; mint will be the color to watch in the upcoming seasons!
It’s gender neutral appeal pushes the focus past feminine colors (think: millennial pink, gen z yellow, fire engine red) as we’ve now moved forward and gives us that futuristic taste that we all crave. Might I suggest a minty hue for Uber’s potential ‘flying taxis?’
Meghan Markle brought a fresh experience (see: social justice preaching) to what is historically a stuffy event – and just like mint harmonizes science and technology with nature, The Duchess harmonized the old world with a new. Moving forward, I feel like this will be the new norm.
