I remember seeing this come through during pilot season early last year and def had my fingers crossed this adaptation of Israel’s Beauty and the Baker – which is one of the country’s highest-rated fictional series of all time btw – would get picked up.
When the romantic comedy series got the green light, I was way too thrilled with the casting choice of Nathalie Kelley. I was devastated when she parted ways with Dynasty (remember this post?!) so to see her back on my television screen playing a character she was able to “build from the ground up” every Monday night (on ABC) has been really cool.
The Baker and the Beauty couldn’t have come at a better time. We all have that fantasy of crossing paths with some crazy famous superstar and being whisked away from our daily routines – but this resonates (for me at least) even more so now.
Being secluded in our homes during this pandemic has had me being extremely picky with the content I’ve been choosing to watch. See: All the Kramer content I’ve been posting on my Instagram stories.. I, like most people, have been leaning on those easy binges – like Seinfeld – that aren’t too heavy on the psyche per se.
The Baker and the Beauty is a feel good show about love and family that easily leaves you craving more.
