A Very Sustainable Inauguration

Joe Biden has officially been sworn in as the 46th President of the United States, but while Lady Gaga, JLo, Amanda Gorman, political peeps, etc. certainly showed up in style, the true best dressed frontrunner (IMO) was Bernie Sanders.

The senator – known for his frumpy and unkempt attire – from Vermont arrived ahead of Wednesday’s inauguration ceremonies wearing his signature beige parka and a pair of very warm-looking mittens.  What I didn’t realize is Bernie’s mittens are made by Jen Ellis, a teacher from Essex Junction, VT.  She gave them to him a few years ago and he began wearing them on the campaign trail.

The best part?  They are made from repurposed wool sweaters and lined with fleece made from recycled plastic bottles!  So chic, so sustainable.
