Thanksgiving is always one of those holidays I majorly look forward to – mostly because I get to cheat and stuff my face with gluten and dairy – but also because it means I get to spend time with my family on the Florida coast.
Think I went overboard with all the Snapchats and Instagram Stories of the cutest kids on Earth?
If you listen to my podcast, I’m sure you quickly realized we are all a tad eccentric. From getting kicked out of a restaurant to “fleeing” from the cops to randomly creating a food blog (via Catfish), we had the best time imping our way through the week. And, of course, a trip to Florida isn’t complete without a stop at the Kona Cafe in Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
…I may or may not have thrown a slight temper tantrum over the fact that they stopped serving their ham and cheese omelet at 11:30 am. That thing is world class…
The highlight of my week down south was the surprise party my family threw to remind me that I’m now 30 years old and being introduced to the most delicious cake my mouth has ever met. I kid you not, I was already super ecstatic over the Mirolax-filled pinata (seen here), but this cookie dough-filled heaven of a birthday dessert took the cake – pun intended – and was by far the best of the eight (yes, eight!) cakes I consumed.
Clearly the goal of the visit was to eat my way through the week, which I successfully did. Reason 425,657 why Thanksgiving is the best.
