Mean Girls on Broadway

I celebrated Mother’s Day by taking my Mum to see Mean Girls on Broadway because she’s not a regular mom, she’s a cool mom. Tina Fey (who was in the audience!) brought the 2004 classic to life onstage at the August Wilson Theatre and the musical adaptation was even more magical than I had envisioned.

The show – which has already received 12 Tony Award nominations – stuck to the underlying feminist message, included some of it’s classic one-liners (as well as a few new), and updated North Shore High to reflect the power of smartphones in a social media-filled 2018. If you ever wondered what Cady Heron’s Instagram would look like, if Regina George made Donald Trump’s blocked list on Twitter or if Karen Smith was smart enough to crop her head out of a nude pic, I highly suggest seeing the show.

Shout-out to Gregg Barnes who gave the costumes a contemporary twist, pulling inspo from Riverdale and Pretty Little Liars.

SPOILER ALERT: Gretchen Weiner’s hair is still full of secrets.

While I wanted to wear my army pants and flip-flops (for comfort, of course) I opted for this pink Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini dress and Zac Posen bag.
