Last night’s VMAs were hosted by some random guy in Newark, New Jersey. Yes, you read that right. There were some major performances and even better audience reactions. You can always expect for the freak flags to fly on an MTV red carpet (see: here, here, and here) but this year, I was able to pull so major Fall fashion inspo from a few talented artists.

So how do you wear them? Obviously not like Lizzo. Or me. Or Cher. Designers have been flocking to feathers the past two seasons so prepare to see feather-trimmed folks taking this trend to the streets this Fall.

Flashes of color to brighten the eyes is a quick and easy way to add a bit of playfulness to your look and pink eyeshadow was extremely present last night. Barely there make-up is also a trend for Fall 2019 so if this isn’t your thing OR you’re like me and just removed every last one of your eyelash extensions – embrace a clean palette!

Slouchy suits and power blazers as seen on both Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid made a case that professional wear can be relaxed, comfortable, and loose yet still chic af. I’m all about unisex dressing for Fall 2019.
