So let’s be honest – NEON is a hard look to pull off, especially on your nails. Typically, I’m the first to judge someone with a tacky polish that screams ‘Rainbow Bright‘ – yes that was a direct shot at Lucy Hale (I hope she has enough sense to regret this Halloween costume, but I doubt it).
While chatting summer polish with some nail experts recently (aka my waxer and her staff), neon seemed to be the common trend. After being suckered into a mani/pedi (like always), I took the plunge and chose to forgo last season’s mint green (Revlon’s ‘Jaded’) and opt for a barf-tastic lime-green hue on my tips. I can’t lie – while alarming at first, my nails gleamed with sass & rebellion.
For those of you looking to be bold and step outside the lines of the typical neon pink, I suggest L’Oreal’s ‘New Money’ – embellished with a few statement rings of course; maybe even paired with a camo jacket to maintain some edge.
