NYFW: The Spring/Summer 2018 Shows

NYFW: The Shows

Fresh off one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to (aside from my first-ever, The Beach Boys), I Amtrak-ed my way up to NYC for day four of fashion week with Billy Joel’s ‘Uptown Girl’ still ringing in my ears from the night prior. Seriously, how fitting is that?!

As predicted, many of the collections have been showcasing feminine florals and ruffles, asymmetrical designs, and SO.MUCH.PINK. As I cabbed my way to Skylight Clarkson Sq, a familiar voice came on the small little screen in the back of the yellow taxi… The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart and Alex Pall’s official Tommy Hilfiger campaign was playing on repeat. If you know me well, you KNOW I’m maybe one of the EDM duos biggest supporters, so this was a super fun moment.

NYFW is such a weird scene. I no sooner stepped onto Washington Street and was mobbed by half a dozen street style photogs just waiting to capture a picture of not me; but my sunglasses. “Walk towards me really fast.. like you’re on a runway,” one of them barked. I happily obliged and then hit up Juice Press before heading into the Leanne Marshall show.

The usual suspects were in attendance ready and waiting to see the Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Real Housewives of Dallas star, Cary Deuber and her husband, Total Divas’ Summer Rae, some music industry people, editors – same as always.  I was seated next to fellow blogger and friend, Courtney Quinn and to be clear, if you couldn’t tell by our snapchats and instastories, we most definitely were not front row as promised, but pick and choose your battles I suppose.

I’m finding my favorite moments have been seeing all the pink, sequins, and delicate frocks.
