The summer-to-fall transition is officially in full swing. A huge trend that weighed heavily on street style (especially at Paris Fashion Week) was socks paired with awkwardly clunky shoes. From Nike to Alexander McQueen to yes, even Rob Kardashian’s Arthur George collection, socks were hiding bad pedicures up and down the Champs-Élysées.
Personally, I am no stranger to this look. Socks paired with random flats, pumps, etc. is my go-to when driving to work in the cold. I always made sure to take the socks off before entering the office, but maybe now I’ll give it a try? Or not.
As much as I want to hate this look and am sure many feel it’s foolish, I guarantee a few of you – myself included – will admit to caving to the trend by Spring 2014.
