Riverdale Fashion: Season 1 Episode 2

My sister overheard two twenty-something guys raving over Riverdale on the train the other night. This series is literal gold.

Episode 2 gives us a deeper look into character development, which makes me even more of a fan-girl over the fashion choices.

Basically the Archie/Jughead tension we all sensed last week stems from Archie ditching Jughead for Mrs. Grundy on the Fourth of July. Archie’s abs are no joke. Unfortunately, you can’t shop for those anywhere, except for maybe Tinder or Bumble?

I want to believe Veronica’s heart is in the right place – she gifts Betty yellow friendship flowers as a token of her apology (for making out with Archie) and then swears on her mother’s pearls that it will never happen again. It seems as though these two will always be dressed at seperate ends of the color wheel. I’m rooting for their friendship.

Stylistically speaking, Cheryl Blossom is my favorite. Red is the color of fire and blood and is associated with strength, power, and danger (yes, I googled). I love that Cheryl is consistently sporting a bold red lip and even in a bright red top when she plead “guilty” to the cops in science class. Guilty of being in love with her brother -100%, but murder? – I have my suspicions.

Fun Fact: I opted out of dissecting the frog in biology.

The highlight of the episode for me was Josie and The Pussycats singing “Sugar, Sugar” at the football game. Probably one of my all time favorite songs!
