We last left off with Betty receiving a phone call from the Black Hood – and after last night’s episode, it looks as if Betty is in full cahoots with him. As if she had a choice though. Black Hood threatens to carve her future niece/nephew out of her sister’s stomach like a pumpkin if she doesn’t follow his orders, so there’s that.
This episode had a very Scream-esque feel to it, which I loved. Can we talk about Betty’s ringtone for a sec?! The Cordettes ‘Lollipop‘ is SO Archie Comics I can’t. Obsessed.
Loyalty is tested a lot this episode. Betty’s to the Black Hood, Jughead’s to the Serpents, and Archie’s to Betty.
Self described Riverdale “it-girl”, Cheryl Blossom has a thing for Veronica’s ex who’s in town. SPOILER ALERT: he’s hot! He slips Cheryl a roofie, but luckily The Pussycats get to her before anything bad can happen.
Jingle jangle makes another appearance. Jughead is officially a Serpent. Betty tries on the Black Hood’s mask (dark Betty is coming!), then puts a hit out on V’s ex after cutting ties with Jughead per the Black Hood’s orders. Oh, and Tony kisses Jughead – as if we didn’t see that coming…
Special shout-out to Alice Cooper who showed up looking like JLo straight off the VMAs red carpet circa early 2000.
I’m calling it now: the Black Hood is def Betty’s long lost brother. You heard it here first folks.
