After a brief little break for Thanksgiving, the Black Hood is back at it. He published an open letter (just like Kensington Palace did to announce the royal engagement!) threatening the town of Riverdale – because what else is new?…
Penny Peabody blackmails Jughead into being the new drug deal-delivery boy. Since he typically relies solely on his motorcycle for transportation, he enlists Archie (and Mr. Andrews’ truck) as his cohort. In a surprising twist, they get a flat and Jughead catches a ride with a shady stranger – which seems super safe if you ask me – to complete the job.
We should note that the stranger mentions a theory that the “Riverdale Reaper” from years ago is the same man as the Black Hood. This could be important…
TBH, I forgot Josie was on this show, but we see her sneaking around behind the Pussycat’s backs this episode writing her own songs. She goes on a date with the infamous Chuck (remember him?) and does the twist. Her mom, the Mayor, is less than pleased – I️ would be too if I️ we’re getting death threats. I guess the bigger question here is are they coming from Cheryl Blossom – or did I miss something?
I’d also like to point out that Cheryl gets away with murder when it comes to her high school fashion. I️ used to get sent home for wearing spaghetti straps in a non-air-conditioned classroom. Rude.
Betty has way too much time on her hands. She thinks Sheriff Keller is the Black Hood. Veronica thinks he’s having an affair… Personally, I️ think they’re both wrong, but alas, V is right per usual and the Sheriff is indeed having an affair with the Mayor. Juicy.
This episode seemed pretty random if you ask me. We end with the Black Hood calling Pops to let everyone know they’ve failed his test and that a reckoning is upon them. The last time I heard that term was when Fox was airing M. Knight’s ‘Wayward Pines’ and people’s throats were being slit, so this can’t be good for the town of Riverdale.
