Christmas came early to Riverdale during last night’s big BH reveal. Everyone is broke as a joke (surprisingly, just from life; not their Jingle Jangle habits) with the exception of Veronica Lodge who’s buying Hermès for gifts and paying off her ex-boyfriend’s father’s hospital bills because ’tis the season of giving.
Archie and Betty get their flirt on over a Swiss Family Robinson record (whatever does it for you, I guess) – a major upgrade from the chopped finger she received from the Black Hood. It’s really nice to see Betty back in clothing this week, but I’m getting bored of the same collared cardigans. Seriously, how many versions are there?
We learn Riverdale High’s janitor accidentally sentenced the wrong man to death and Cheryl’s Nana Rose and Betty’s grandfather are somehow involved? I would just like to point out that the “Sisters of Quiet Mercy” are absolutely HORRIFYING.
Bughead and the Serpents cut off Penny, the snake charmer’s tattoo. Betty kisses Archie then shorty after is strong-armed by the Black Hood into burying Archie alive. Ah, love. In the end, good outweighs evil and the Black Hood gets shot, dies, and is revealed to be… the janitor. Stupid.
Veronica declares her love and kisses Archie under a poorly planted mistletoe and, alas, the love triangle we grew to love in the pilot ep is back in full swing.
Dark Betty is coming in the New Year. I️ know it.
