Starting 11

One of my favorite takeaways from Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Switching Goals – aside from Michael Cera – was how they always had the best hair to compliment their uniforms.

After a 14 hour road trip, it’s needless to say I was a bit delusional waking up to the Premier League’s opener on the television Saturday morning. Plot twist; I’m not typically one to focus on the game itself, rather more how the players style their uniforms. Remember this?

I must say, the football – or is it futbol? – stars really amped the effort to kickoff the EPL season when it came to their hairdos – which led me to this blog post. Call it a stroke of genius or lack of sleep, but I thought it would be fun to give the starting 11 (with the best hairstyles) a shoutout.  They may not have pigtails or barrettes like the Olsen’s, but nonetheless, impressive.

#1. Nathan Ake

While scouring for my favorites, I noticed I handpicked WAY too many players with blonde/gold highlights a la Justin Timberlake during his *NSync days. But seriously, how bad do you guys want to run your fingers through this kid’s hair?! Just me?….

#2. Pogba

Starting 11
If I were ten years old and aspiring to be a soccer stud, I would one thousand percent model my hair off of this look.

#3. Wayne Rooney

Starting 11
Gotta give it to Rooney. He struggled with a hair transplant for a bit. His hair looks somewhat normal now, so snaps to him!

#4. David Silva

Starting 11
Going to be 100% percent honest here; I have no clue which one of these kids is Silva. That being said, the guy in the blue’s hair reminds me of a bouquet of carrots and I really appreciate that.

#5. Sergio Kun Aguero

Starting 11
I feel like 98% of the Bachelor contestants modeled their cuts off of Sergio’s ‘do. Looking at you Robby Hayes…

#6. Christian Eriksen

SHARK!!!!!

#7. Steve Mounie

Starting 11
Mounie almost got the boot from this post, but I was told to keep him since he’s relevant and scored this weekend. Plus, I seriously cannot get enough of these frosted tips!

#8. David De Gea

Starting 11
Where are my Game of Thrones fans at?! David De Gea looks like he either belongs in Westeros or is the Knight King defrosted. Loving this look.

#9. Emre Can

Starting 11
Can’s swoop (is that what you call it?) is legendary and deserves it’s own twitter handle. Somebody make it happen..

#10. Marouana Fellaini

Starting 11
Truly, there is no caption needed for this. It’s like the mic drop of hairdos.

#11. David Luiz

Starting 11
Need to know what product Mufasa uses to keep the hair off his face sweat. Asking for a friend…

Soccer fans: Help me out! Who else am I missing?!

Starting 11
Special shoutout to Man City’s Coach, Pep Guardiola. He’s got a great look.
