The girls finally escape the mansion and head to South Lake Tahoe to spend the week with Arie.
Seinne gets the first one-on-one, which is a lot of pressure since Lauren S. didn’t return after hers last week. The two go parasailing because it’s about “letting go and seeing where the wind takes you” according to Seinne. During this date, I got the feeling that Arie could quite literally be the most boring human on the planet. I would love to know his take on aliens and paranormal activity because I doubt he is a believer. After bonding and enduring a few winks, Seinne gets a rose.
Maquel finds out her grandpa passed away so she goes home to be with family.
The group date teaches the girls survival skills, which I wish I had when I was dating my ex who lives in Tahoe – think: garbage-picking black bears. Arie makes a funny and drinks his own pee apple juice and then the girls eat bugs. The first and last time I went camping I broke my arm because I tripped over a bag and that was like two decades ago so I def would’ve walked off set during this date.
Kendall stands out because she loves taxidermy and being wilderness-y and this makes condescending Krystal jealous. Lauren B. and Arie bond over wanting to spank each other when they grow old. Tia is over Krystal’s whisper voice, which same.
Bekah gets the second one-on-one (on horseback) with Arie. These two actually seem to have a legit natural, genuine connection and seem so right for each other, which IMO, is a first for this franchise. You could literally SEE the devastation in Arie’s eyes when Bekah reveals that she is 14 years younger than him aka she lives for bottle service while Arie finds joy in a 50% off sale at JoAnn Fabrics. Heartbreaking. Arie decides to “proceed with caution” – his words, not mine – and give Bekah a rose.
Side Note: Did anyone else get extreme anxiety for Bekah’s earlobes when Arie’s fingers were stuck in her hoops?
The episode ends with a non-existent cocktail party because Arie’s mind is made up. Krystal interrupts the rose ceremony for more time with Arie and talks her way into staying one more week. Can someone please get this girl a Xanax?
