As most of you know, I live on Philadelphia’s Main Line. Home of M. Night Shyamalan, Pretty Little Liars (summer premiere next week – woo!), and the most beloved tradition – The Devon Horse Show.
The Devon Horse Show is the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed competition in the United States. I’m pretty sure I’ve attended every single year since I was born. Growing up, my horse’s name was Huggy Bear and I always wanted to compete at the show with him. While Huggy Bear won me a few second and third place ribbons, I’m fairly certain he wouldn’t have been able to hold up at the Devon Horse Show – these competitors are NO joke.
The show continues to reflect the local traditions and lifestyles of the Philadelphia Main Line aka I always whip out my best Lilly Pulitzer number when I attend. I think the best part of the show this year (for me) was the food – no shame, I know. I scarfed one too many french fries, drank enough fresh squeezed lemonade for a family of five, and basically sold out the Mompops stand (the Chocolate Sea Salt is divine).
If you’re ever in the area around this time of year, I highly suggest checking out the show. Carson Kressley is a Devon Horse Show staple and is always a great time! Remember this?
