Anyone who knows me, can vouch that I cry every.single.time I see my sister’s rescue dog, Carmella. I was actually calling her the “OA” yesterday – you know, Netflix’s Original Angel – because I love her so much. Not to mention, my sweet little pup, Roxy, who runs my life. Needless to say, I’m a big dog person.
This Thursday, millions will celebrate the Chinese New Year and to mark the occasion, many of our favorite fashion labels have been focusing on the zodiac animal of the year – the dog!
Gucci dropped an entire collection solely focused dogs to celebrate while Dolce & Gabbana released a special line dedicated to the man’s best friend. Moschino got in on this as well by introducing us all to Pudge, Betty Boop’s faithful little wide-eyed puppy as the star of their Chinese New Year capsule collection.
But my favorite nod to the dog so far has been New York label Gauntlett Cheng’s runway show at St. Mark’s Church this past weekend. They sent eight dogs down the runway in pint-size creations alongside their owners, all of whom are friends of the two designers.
