While Philadelphia hasn’t exactly felt that frigid, we are apparently in for a brutal winter. With the holiday season in full swing, many of us are making plans to get out of dodge before the temperatures drop.
I spent my Thanksgiving in Florida visiting family last week, and let me tell you, the (short) trek from cold climate to warm was a bit problematic. It’s like, you don’t want to freeze on the plane, but at the same time, land in 75 degree weather looking like you’re ready to land on the moon.
The obvious strategy here is layering – or if you’re Posh Spice, change on the jet, but I’m lucky if I get a window seat let alone my own plane, so…
Another struggle is keeping your wardrobe climate-appropriate while silently acknowledging that it’s in fact, December. I’m a big fan of pairing a light-weight dress or skirt with a pair of booties. It reads “hey look, I’m not cold, but it’s still fall/winter!” you know?
Leather-washed leggings, blouses, and a kini or two also made it into my suitcase as well.
